SIDEWALKS host Richard R. Lee talks to SoftBank Robotics America’s Omar Abdelwahed about the first humanoid robot named Pepper at Silicon Valley Comic Con’s tech event.
From their press material, Pepper is an autonomous talking humanoid robot who perceives emotions, and adapts his behavior to the mood of the humans around him. Pepper can identify joy, sadness, anger or surprise and respond appropriately, making his interactions with humans incredibly natural and intuitive. Engaging and friendly, Pepper is much more than a robot, he’s a companion able to communicate with you through the most intuitive interface we know: voice, touch and emotions.
Currently being used at businesses and retailers in America, Pepper is a social humanoid robot designed as a companion for the home. It was created by Aldebaran Robotics and SoftBank.
