In this special presentation, the CEO of Operation Homefront discusses a new campaign — between Operation Homefront (a non-profit organization that provides emergency aid to military families) and Dove Men+Care — that is helping to reunite hundreds of service members with their loved ones on Father’s Day. SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes interviews Jim Knotts.
Mini-Biography:
Jim Knotts is a former Air Force public affairs officer and veteran of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Jim served for two years on Operation Homefront’s national board of directors. Since joining Operation Homefront as the CEO in 2008, the organization has provided almost $150 million in cash and in-kind support to military families. Prior to joining Operation Homefront, Knotts served as director of corporate citizenship at Lockheed Martin headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. Knotts is now a military spouse, supporting his wife who is a Nurse Anesthetist in the Air Force Reserve. They have a nine-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.
About Operation Homefront:
Operation Homefront provides direct services to alleviate a military family’s or individual’s actual/complete emergency financial burden, as well as counseling and/or recovery support. Operation Homefront also provides financial assistance in the form of emergency food; emergency home repairs; critical baby items such as formula, food and diapers; and much more.
