The Sidewalks Entertainment team attended the 2016 Island Reggae Festival, a full day of performances and fun in San Jose, CA.
Island Reggae Festival is a one day music and entertainment celebration of Island Reggae culture and lifestyle. Held in San Jose’s Santa Clara Fairgrounds, the 5th annual event featured performances by Common Kings, Tarrus Riley, Collie Buddz, Fiji, Anuhea, Sammy J, Tenelle, Mango Kingz, Makisi, Fina Love, and other performers.
The Island Reggae Festival has been growing during the last couple of years. The first two festivals were held at the amusement park Great America in nearby Santa Clara. Both festivals were sold out. With a desire to accommodate a larger audience, the promoters, three brothers who share the love of music under the brand RudeBwoy 3ntertainment, changed their venue to the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. The larger location helped them add more elements, including a second stage, carnival rides, a tattoo showcase, island dance performances, a car show, and a youth rugby tournament.
The SIDEWALKS crew was on hand to capture images and interview some of the artists backstage.
