SIDEWALKS’ theme song writer scoring forthcoming film on actress Jayne Mansfield.
Singer / musician / songwriter Jeryl Orsino announced on her Facebook page that she will be writing songs and scoring a new 2014 film, based on the life of actress Jayne Mansfield.
The following is from her Facebook status:
Some very exciting news: I will be writing songs and scoring a movie Called “Diamonds to Dust: The Rise and Fall of Jayne Mansfield” If you are not familiar with Jayne – She was an actress in film, theater, and television, a nightclub entertainer, a singer, and one of the early Playboy Playmates. She was a major Hollywood sex symbol of the 1950s and early 1960s. She is Mariska Hargitay’s Mom who died tragically in a horrible car accident.
The east coast performer has had her singles heard on MTV”s “Laguna Beach,” the PBS program “Independent Lens,” the web series “Venice,” and other independent film and animated series. Since 2005, Orsino has been allowing “Sidewalks Entertainment” the use of her tunes for background music and the song “So Many Things” as the long-running program’s theme song. Orsino previously appeared in an east coast segment of “Sidewalks,” with host Rafael Siegel, at her record release party of her music group, From The Desk of Sally.
According to an IMDB listing, the project is a movie version of Frank Ferruccio book, “Diamonds to Dust: The Life and Death of Jayne Mansfield,” which focuses on the 1960’s turbulent life of jet setter actress Mansfield and her life. The film is directed by Rob Villano and will star David Drake (“The Good Wife”).
