Interviewed by SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes, Deschanel talks about her life while moving around with her family, working as both a lead star and producer of “New Girl,” developing the website HelloGiggles, and joining fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger in the new clothing and accessory line, “To Tommy, From Zooey.”

Born in Los Angeles, CA, Zooey Deschanel is an actress, musician, singer/songwriter and fashion designer. She made her film debut in “Mumford” in 1999, which was followed by “Almost Famous,” “Manic,” ”Big Trouble,” ”Abandon,” “The Good Girl,” “Elf,” “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” “Failure to Launch,” “Bridge to Terabithia,” ”Yes Man,” and “(500) Days of Summer.”
On TV, she is the lead star in the comedy, “New Girl.” She made guest appearances on “Veronica’s Closet,” “Frasier,” “Cracking Up,” “Weeds,” and “Bones” (co-starting real life older sister Emily Deschanel), as well as starring in the miniseries “Tin Man” and using her voice in “American Dad!” and “The Simpsons.”
As a singer, Deschanel is a member of She & Him (with M. Ward). They released albums “Volume One,” “Volume Two,” “A Very She & Him Christmas,” and “Volume 3.” Along with actress Samantha Shelton, Deschanel also performed in a jazz cabaret act called “If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies.”
