In this extended interview, SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales talks to funnyman Tim Meadows about his favorite characters on “Saturday Night Live,” the type of non-comedy roles he would like to play, and portraying Jonathan “Andre” Glascott on “The Goldbergs” and its special event spinoff pilot, “The Goldbergs – 1990-Something.”
Mini-Biography:
Born in Highland Park, Michigan, actor / comedian Tim Meadows became one of the longest regular cast members of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” where he played various popular characters, including Leon Phelps (a.k.a. “The Ladies’ Man”), during his ten season run. He played Leon in the feature film, “The Ladies Man.” On TV, he was a regular on “The Michael Richards Show,” “The Bill Engvall Show,” “Glory Daze,” “Mr. Box Office,” “Marry Me,” “Son of Zorn,” and currently on the CBS All Access show, “No Activity.” Meadows also had recurring roles in such programs as “Living with Fran,” “Help Me Help You,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Suburgatory,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “The Goldbergs,” as well as playing P.K. Winsome on “The Colbert Report.” Some of his films include “Coneheads,” “Wayne’s World 2,” “It’s Pat,” “Three Days,” “Mean Girls,” “The Cookout,” “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” “Semi-Pro,” “Aliens in the Attic,” “Jack & Jill,” “Trainwreck,” “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,” and in the “Grown Ups” films. Meadows continues to perform comedy on stage.
