SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales interviews Thomas Lennon and Mary Birdsong, the actors from the TV series “Reno 911!” and the Comedy Central holiday movie, “Reno 911!: It’s a Wonderful Heist.” Additionally, they talk about how the actors knew each other.

Born in in Oak Park, Illinois, Thomas Lennon is an actor, comedian, screenwriter, producer, director, and novelist. Also the creator, he is best known for playing off-and-mainly on Lieutenant Jim Dangle on the series “Reno 911!” and its many revivals and movies. He has been on many popular TV shows, including the lead role in the sitcom remake of “The Odd Couple” and the voice of Wizard Whitebeard on “Where’s Waldo?” Lennon co-founded the influential sketch comedy group The State, which led to a television series of the same name on MTV. He also co-created “Viva Variety.” Lennon has appeared in numerous films, including “The Dark Knight Rises,” “I Love You, Man,” “Cedar Rapids,” and “Bad Teacher.” As a writer, he has written for the television series “The State,” “Reno 911!,” “Viva Variety,” and “Strangers with Candy.” He is the author of four of IFC’s “50 Greatest Comedy Sketches of All Time.”

Born in Florida and grew up on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, Mary Birdsong is known as an actress, but she also writes, directs, produces, does voiceover work, and sings in rock bands. She is known for work as Deputy Cherisha Kimball on “Reno 911!” Birdsong is a former correspondent on “The Daily Show” and “Crossballs.” She was in the feature films “Adventureland,” “Halloween II,” “High School,” and “The Descendants.” As a voice actress, she has appeared in animated series, including “Goldie and Bear,” “Stroker and Hoop,” “Little Bill,” “Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law,” “Tak & the Power of Juju,” “T.U.F.F. Puppy.” On stage, Birdsong performed in the “Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me,” “Hairspray,” “3 Days in the Tub: A Mama Drama,” and Armistead Maupin’s “Tales of the City.”
