Mini-Biography:
Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Homestead, Tamara Tunie is best known to TV audiences for playing attorney Jessica Griffin on “As the World Turns” and medical examiner Melinda Warner on NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” She also starred in “The Red Road,” recurred in “Blue Bloods” and season 1 of “24,” and appeared on multiple episodes of “Alpha House,” “Better Call Saul,” and “Days of Our Lives.” Some of Tunie’s movie credits are “The Devil’s Advocate,” “Wall Street,” “City Hall,” “Bloodhounds of Broadway,” “Rising Sun,” “Eve’s Bayou,” “The Caveman’s Valentine,” and “The Peacemaker.” On stage, Tunie has starred in “Building the Wall,” “Familiar” (a role she won an Obie Award), “The Library,” “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” and “Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music.”
