In this brief interview, SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes interviews the actress about getting her start with Spike Lee and her first film, “Do The Right Thing”; working in animated films; and her role in “The Counselor,” directed by Ridley Scott and starring Michael Fassbender, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, and Brad Pitt.

Mini-Biography:
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Rosie Pérez is an actress and choreographer, who were hired by Spike Lee for her first acting role in “Do the Right Thing.”

She went on to other acting roles, including “White Men Can’t Jump,” “Untamed Heart,” “Fearless,” “Perdita Durango,” and “Pineapple Express.”

Early in her career, she was a dancer on “Soul Train” and the choreographer for the dancing “The Fly Girls” on “In Living Color.” Some of the TV shows Pérez appeared on are “21 Jump Street,” “Widows,” “Frasier,” “Go, Diego, Go!,” “Lipstick Jungle,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and “Nurse Jackie.”
