In the TV version feature package, SIDEWALKS east correspondent Darren Paltrowitz talks to the “Rogue Heroes” cast members (Connor Swindells, Jack O’Connell and Alfie Allen) and creator / writer Steven Knight about the series, familiarity with the real Special Air Service (SAS), and preparing for the project. In Overseas, the series was titled “SAS: Rogue Heroes” and, in America, the show dropped “SAS” from the program name.

Born in Lewes, East Sussex, Connor Swindells is known for playing Adam Groff on the Netflix’s “Sex Education.” He was also seen on the miniseries “Vigil” as Lieutenant Simon Hadlow. His film roles include “The Vanishing, “Emma,” “Barbarians,” and “Barbie.” On “Rogue Heroes,” Swindells portrays David Stirling.
Born in Hammersmith, London, Alfie Allen played Theon Greyjoy on “Game of Thrones.” His film roles include “John Wick,” “Night Teeth,” “The Predator,” and “Jojo Rabbit.” On TV, Allen was also seen on “Harlots,” “White House Farm,” and miniseries “Close to the Enemy.” On “Rogue Heroes,” he plays Jock Lewes.
Born in in Alvaston, Derbyshire, Jack O’Connell found fame with the role of James Cook in “Skins.” Other notable roles include “This Is England,” “Eden Lake,” “300: Rise of an Empire,” “Starred Up,” “’71,” “Unbroken,” “Money Monster,” “Trial by Fire,” 18) and TV-movie’s “Dive” and “United,” In miniseries, O’Connell played Roy Goode in the Netflix’s “Godless” and Patrick Sumner in BBC’s “North Water.” On Rogue Heroes, he plays Paddy Mayne.
Steven Knight is a British screenwriter and film director. He wrote the screenplays for projects, such as “Closed Circuit,” “Dirty Pretty Things” and “Eastern Promises.” He also wrote and directed films “Locke,” “Serenity” (2019), and “Hummingbird.” On TV, Knight is the executive, producer, writer and director of “Peaky Blinders.” Other TV projects (as writer and/or producer) include “Commercial Breakdown,” “The Detectives,” “See,” and “Taboo.” On “Rogue Heroes,” Knight is the creator, executive producer, and writer.
