SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro welcomes back actor / producer Ricky Schroder, who talks about his career start, his favorite projects he has been in, and “My Fighting Season,” a new 6-part documentary series that follows US Army Soldiers fighting in Afghanistan from the unique perspective of their own cameras.

Mini-Biography:
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ricky Schroder started his show biz career as a child star in 1979’s “The Champ,” where he won a Golden Globe Award® for Best New Male Star of the Year in a Motion Picture. He found success on TV, first in the popular comedy “Silver Spoons” and later as an adult in the crime drama “NYPD Blue.” Along with appearing in several TV-movies, other highlights in TV are “Lonesome Dove” and sequel “Return to Lonesome Dove,” ”Scrubs,” “Strong Medicine,” “The Andromeda Strain,” and the 2007 season of “24.” In 2004, Schroder wrote and directed the feature film “Black Cloud.” In 2015, he co-starred as Robert Lee Parton in “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors.” His production company, Ricky Schroder Productions, produced the documentary series “My Fighting Season” and now the sequel, “My Fighting Season.”
