In the TV version, SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro talks to the married couple about their first time meeting and doing their Travel Channel reality show “Rev Runs Around the World” with their kids, Russy and Miley.

Born in Hollis, Queens, New York, Joseph Simmons, better known with stage names as Rev. Run, DJ Run or Reverend Run, is a founding member of the legendary hip-hop group, Run–D.M.C., who were named as “The Greatest Hip Hop Group of All Time” by MTV.com and “Greatest Hip Hop Artist of All Time” by VH1. He was the lead vocalist, along with Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels and the late DJ Jason “Jam-Master Jay” Mizell. Together, they sold over tens of millions of records worldwide, with hit singles such as “Walk This Way,” “It’s Like That,” “Hard Times,” “My Adidas,” “Run’s House,” “What’s It All About,” and many others. In 2009, the group was an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Simmons is also a practicing minister.
Married in 1994, wife Justine Simmons has launched a jewelry line called Brown Sugar. On TV, Rev Run, Justine and family appeared on the popular MTV reality series, “Run’s House,” from 2005-2009. Their other series are “Rev Run’s Renovation” (aired on DIY Network and HGTV) and “Rev Run’s Sunday Suppers” (Cooking Channel).
