In 2017, SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales talked to actors Barry Watson and Raquel Welch. In the interview, Watson spoke about his memories of “7th Heaven,” Welch told us about her famous bikini in “One Million Years B.C.” and her photos and posters, and the actors’ starring roles on the then-UP TV’s “Date My Dad.”

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Raquel Welch was an actress, singer, author, entrepreneur … and cultural icon. Along with “Fantastic Voyage,” the movie that gave her worldwide fame, as well as the ultimate sex symbol status, was “One Million Years B.C.” Some of her films roles include “Sex Quartet,” “Fathom,” “Bedazzled,” “Bandolero!,” “100 Rifles,” “Myra Breckinridge,” “Mother, Jugs & Speed,” “Animal,” “The Prince and the Pauper,” “Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult,” “Legally Blonde,” “Tortilla Soup,” and the TV-film “Right to Die.” On TV, she was the billboard girl for “The Hollywood Palace” and appeared in TV series “Central Park West,” “American Family,” “Spin City,” and “Welcome to The Captain,” along with many guest roles including “Bewitched,” “McHale’s Navy,” “Mork & Mindy,” “Evening Shade,” “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” “Seinfeld,” “8 Simple Rules,” and “CSI: Miami.” Welch received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994 and was awarded the Imagen Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award for her positive promotion of Americans of Latin heritage throughout her career in 2001. Raquel Welch died on February 15, 2023. She was 82.
Born in Traverse City, Michigan, Barry Watson found major fame playing Matthew “Matt” Camden on “7th Heaven.” Other noteworthy roles include Brian Davis in “What About Brian” and Todd Deepler in “Samantha Who?” Watson had recurring roles on “Gossip Girl,” “Masters of Sex,” and “Hart of Dixie.”
