SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales talks to actor Peter Hermann about his memories of living in Germany as a young child, how he got into acting, his “hair” appearances on “Sex and the City” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and playing Charles Brooks on TV Land’s “Younger.”
Mini-Biography:
Born in New York City (but moved to Germany as an infant then returned to USA when he was 10 years old), Peter Hermann is an actor and author. Since 2015, he has been playing Charles Brooks in TV Land’s “Younger.” In recurring roles, he has been playing defense attorney Trevor Langan on NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and as John “Jack” Boyle on CBS’ “Blue Bloods.” Hermann also played Harrison Curtis in 5 episodes of CBS’ “The Gifted Man” and he starred as Davis Draper on ABC’s short-lived “Cashmere Mafia.” Some of his other TV highlights include “Guiding Light” (during 1997–1998), “Beautiful People,” and “Angela’s Eyes.” In films, he appeared in “United 93,” “Trouble with the Curve,” “All Is Bright,” and “Edge of Darkness.” On stage, Hermann was in Eric Bogosian’s “Talk Radio” and “War Horse.” In March 2018, Hermann’s children’s book, “If the S in Moose Comes Loose,” was released. Since 2014, he has been married to Mariska Hargitay. He met her during his first appearance on her series, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
