Mini-Biography:
Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Noah Baumbach is an independent filmmaker, writer, and director.
At 26 years old (according to a Wikipedia listing), he made his writing and directing debut with “Kicking and Screaming” in 1995. Other films Baumbach co-wrote and/or directed are “Mr. Jealousy,” “Highball,” and “Margot at the Wedding.” Additionally, he co-wrote “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.”
“The Squid and the Whale” was a semi-autobiographical film about his childhood in Brooklyn, which gave Baumbach an Academy Award®-nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
Besides collaborating with Wes Anderson as a writer on “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” Baumbach has worked with actress Greta Gerwig on projects, including “Greenberg” and “Frances Ha.”
