Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Mario Van Peebles is an actor, director, producer and writer. He is known for starring and/or directing films such as “New Jack City,” “BAADASSSSS!,” “Posse,” “Panther,” “Blowback,” “Ali,” and “Highlander III: The Sorcerer.” Along with directing many of his projects, Peebles is also popular choice as a TV director. Some of the episodic television he helmed include “Sons of Anarchy,” “Law and Order,” “Damages,” “Boss,” “NCIS,” “Nashville,” “Once Upon a Time,” “The Last Ship,” the re-envision of the “Roots” miniseries, “Lost,” and “Empire.”
