SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes interviews the comedian about his start as “Larry The Cable Guy” and his History Channel TV series, “Only in America with Larry The Cable Guy,” where he goes on a coast-to-coast road trip to discover what make USA great.
Mini-Biography:
Grew up in Pawnee City, Nebraska, Larry The Cable Guy (real name: Daniel Whitney) is a multi-platinum recording artist, TV personality, actor, and comedian. He is best known for being a member of the Blue Collar comedy group, which includes fellow comedians Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall. Together, they were part of the very successful Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which led to movies, a TV series (“Blue Collar TV”), and more popular comedy tours. Additionally, the trio worked on the CMT animated series, “Bounty Hunters,” and reunited for “Them Idiots Whirled Tour.” Kids loves Larry as the voice of Mater in Disney/Pixar’s “Cars” and “Cars 2.” Other roles include “Tooth Fairy 2,” “Witless Protection,” “Delta Farce,” “Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector,” and “A Madea Christmas.” His first comedy album release, “Lord, I Apologize,” reached gold status and sold more than 500,000 copies. Other comedy products include “Git-R-Done,” “Morning Constitutions,” “The Right To Bare Arms,” and “A Very Larry Christmas.”
