Interview: Kirk Franklin (The American Bible Challenge)

He’s one of the top Gospel performers. Now, he is adding musical co-host to his resume. Kirk Franklin comes to SIDEWALKS and talks about joining “The American Bible Challenge.”

The gospel singer talks to SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes about his career, being the musical co-host on GSN’s “The American Bible Challenge,” and working with host Jeff Foxworthy.

Mini-Biography:
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Kirk Franklin is a nine-time Grammy® winner and multi-platinum-selling musician and producer, best known in the world of gospel music. So far, he has received 35 Stellar Awards and five NAACP Image Awards. In the early 90s, Franklin organized The Family, a seventeen-voice choir, which released their debut album in 1993 called “Kirk Franklin & The Family,” which was followed by “Kirk Franklin & the Family Christmas” and “Whatcha Lookin’ 4.” Franklin had some collaboration projects including “The Nu Nation Project,” “God’s Property from Kirk Franklin’s Nu Nation,” and “Kirk Franklin Presents 1NC.” In the early 2000s, he went on a solo career that included his certified Platinum album, “The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin,” which topped the Gospel Albums and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Other albums include “Hero,” “Kirk Franklin Presents: Songs For The Storm Vol. 1,” “The Fight of My Life,” and “Hello Fear.” He’s also the New York Times bestselling author of “The Blueprint: A Plan for Living Above Life’s Storms.” On TV, he is also the host and executive producer of the gospel talent show, “Sunday Best,” on BET. In addition, he owns Fo Yo Soul Entertainment.
