SIDEWALKS correspondent and Hawaiian-born Rasha Pecoraro interviews actresses Kelly Hu and Kea Peahu about their Hawaiian heritage and working in Hawaii for their Netflix film, “Finding ‘Ohana.”
Mini-Biographies:
Born on October 12, 2007 in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kea Peahu is a dancer and actress. She and her dance crew The Lab went on season 2 of NBC’s “World of Dance,” which they won the top prize. She was part of “It’s My Party,” where she spent two-and-a-half months on the road touring with Jennifer Lopez. The young starlet has appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Lip Sync Battle Shorties,” an episode of Disney’s ” Bizaardvark,” and on a music video with Chris Brown.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kelly Hu has been a very busy actress. After winning the title of Miss Hawaii Teen USA and competed in the Miss Teen USA 1985, she has appeared on many popular TV programs, including daytime drama “Sunset Beach,” “Nash Bridges,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Hawaii Five-O,” “Arrow,” and “Warehouse 13.” Hu was part of the main cast of the comedy, “In Case of Emergency.” On the big screen, Hu was in “The Scorpion King,” “Cradle 2 the Grave,” “X2,” “The Tournament,” and “White Frog,” just to name a few. Some of her voice works are “Phineas and Ferb,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” Tangled Adventure,” “Scooby-Doo! and the Samurai Sword,” and various “Batman” projects.
