SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales interviews “Someone Like You” film stars Jake Allyn and Sarah Fisher and author / producer Karen Kingsbury about the feature film and their respective careers in the industry.

Mini-Biographies:
Born in Fairfax, Virginia, New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury is an inspirational storyteller, with more than twenty-five million copies of her award-winning books in print. Her last dozen titles have topped bestseller lists and many of her novels have been developed as major motion pictures, including several as Hallmark Channel movies (“The Bridge,” “A Time to Dance,” and “Maggie’s Christmas Miracle”). Earlier in her career, she worked as a sports journalist for the Los Angeles Times before transitioning to the Los Angeles Daily News. Her debut novel, “Missy’s Murder” (1991), was inspired by a homicide case she reported on in Los Angeles. With the formation of Karen Kingsbury Productions in June 2022, Kingsbury and her team filmed their first theatrical feature, “Someone Like You.” Her Baxter Family books were developed into a TV series, “The Baxters.” Kingsbury is also an adjunct professor of writing at Liberty University.
Sarah Fisher is a Canadian actor, based in Los Angeles. She became a model at Elite Model Management in Toronto. Fisher’s first ever industry audition was for “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” where she played the role of Becky Baker for three seasons. Some of her acting credits include Chloe Steele in the Nicolas Cage sequel “Left Behind,” Carley Allison in Netflix’s “Kiss and Cry,” “Project Baby,” Roxy in “#ROXY,” and a recurring role of Samantha on CBC’s “Heartland.” Fisher plays the lead roles, Andi Allen and London Quinn, in Karen Kingsbury’s “Someone Like You.” Fisher received training from various acting schools, such as Second City in Toronto and The Groundlings in Los Angeles. In addition to her acting skills, she is an accomplished classical and pop singer with more than 15 years of experience, having provided original music for numerous productions.
Jake Allyn is an actor, screenwriter, and director. His immigration drama, “No Man’s Land,” which he wrote and starred in opposite Andie MacDowell, George Lopez and Frank Grillo, opened to both box office and critical acclaim. On TV, Allyn is well known for starring in the BET series, “The Quad,” as well as Amazon Prime’s “The Baxters,” and currently recurs as an NCIS Elite agent on the CBS’ “NCIS Hawai’i.” Allyn will make his directorial debut with the rodeo-crime film “Ride,” which he also wrote and stars in. Additionally, his next film in development is the true-crime inspired “Dixie Crystal,” where he will direct, write and star in the film opposite Rob Morgan.
