Mini-Biography:
Justin Chien is an actor, writer and film producer, who plays Charles Sun, Eileen’s (Michelle Yeoh) eldest son in Netflix’s “The Brothers Sun.” He embarked on his on-screen acting journey in 2015 with roles in various short films. His inaugural appearance took place in the romantic short film, “Minolta,” followed by other short films including “Cyclists,” “Consent or (the Unexpected Virtue of Affirmation),” “Reverallium,” “Pool Boy,” and “Kodama.” Chien starred in 12 episodes of SNAP’s original drama “Two Sides: Unfaithful” as Mikey. As writer, his first credited position was for the 2017 short drama “Reverallium,” which he also starred in. Additionally, Chien wrote, co-directed and executive produced the award-nominated family drama “Continuum,” co-produced the short animated musical “Fine China,” and was an associate producer for the 2021 short film “Endless Yesterdays.”
Born in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China and was raised in Southern California, Sam Song Li plays Bruce Sun, Eileen’s younger son, on Netflix’s “The Brothers Sun.” Appearing in several short films, he gained some serious notice when he starred alongside Simu Liu in “Women Is Losers,” a film that premiered at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival. His other film roles include “American Carnage,” “Women Is Losers” and “Take the Night.” Li made his television debut in AMC’s “Better Call Saul,” then guest starred in the ABC comedy “Home Economics” and Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever,” starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
