Grammy-award® winning singing legends Al Jarreau and George Benson have united for their first-ever album together, “Givin’ It Up.” In this 2006 interview to promote the album, the internationally-famous pop, jazz, and R&B musicians talked to SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes about the CD that features new arrangement of one of the other’s biggest hits and also included cover tunes of “Summer Breeze,” “Bring it on Home to Me,” and “Every Time You Go Away,” as well as a new jazz vocal versions of the Miles Davis classics “Four” and “‘Long Come Tutu.” Additionally, the duo tells us a funny story on how Paul McCartney made an unexpected appearance during the recording of the CD.
Al Jarreau passed away on February 12, 2017.
