Mini-Biography:
Born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, gymnastic’s Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas became an international sensation when she won gold medals in both the individual all-around and team competitions with “The Fierce Five” (McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber) at the 2012 London Summer Olympics. In addition to Olympic golds, Douglas won the metal in World Championships, Pacific Rim Championships, City of Jesolo Trophy, and Visa Championships. Some of her highlights are: 1st African-American All Around Olympic Gold Medalist, 1st Female to win both AA & Team Gold Medals in the same Olympics, 2012 USA Olympian, 2011 USA World Team Member-Gold Medalist and Sr. Women Nat’l Team Member.
