Mini-Biographies (Courtesy of Sesame Workshop):
Elmo is a 3½-year-old red monster with a high-pitched voice and a contagious giggle. Enthusiastic, friendly and curious, he always wants to explore new things and be a part of everything that goes on. However, like most preschoolers, he sometimes doesn’t have the skills or knowledge to do what he wants. But that never stops him because he has a very positive, optimistic view of himself and life. Elmo always tries to do the right thing in every situation and encourages his friends to do the same. His best friends are Zoe and Abby as well as his pet goldfish Dorothy, but he is always open to making new friends. Elmo’s favorite hobbies are dancing, singing and riding on his tricycle. He also loves books and using his imagination to make up stories.

Rosita is an optimistic and playful 5-year who She hails from Mexico, and speaks both Spanish and English, often mixing words from both languages. She is a sensitive and caring character, and conveys her compassion through lots of hugging. She loves to sing and play guitar, and enjoys teaching Spanish to her friends like Elmo, Abby, and Zoe.

Dr. Jeanette Betancourt is the Senior Vice President for U.S. Social Impact at Sesame Workshop. She directs Sesame’s community and family engagement initiatives that make a difference in the lives of countless vulnerable children and their families.
