In HD, SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro interviews the co-directors of the 3D stop motion, Laika animated feature film, “The Boxtrolls.” Along with talking about the film, the filmmakers discuss their past careers and projects.
Mini-Biographies:
Anthony F. Stacchi is an effects animator and director, who made his directorial debut with Sony Pictures Animation’s animated film, “Open Season.” He has worked at Colossal Pictures as an Animator and Commercial Director and Industrial Light and Magic as an effects animator (“Back to the Future,” “Hook,“ ”The Rocketeer,” “Ghost,” “James and the Giant Peach”). As a storyboard artist, he was involved in “Antz,” “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron,” and “Curious George.”
Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, Graham Annable is a cartoonist and animator. He is the creator of Grickle and one of the Hickee humor anthology. Annable worked for LucasArts (for 10 years), Telltale Games, and has done projects for Chuck Jones, Nickelodeon, and Walt Disney Productions. He was a story artist for films, “ParaNorman” and “Coraline.” Annable has wrote the story, animated and/or directed video games, such as “CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder,” “Star Wars: Obi-Wan,” “Outlaws,” “RTX Red Rock,” “Afterlife,” “Full Throttle,” and “Bone: Out from Boneville” and “The Great Cow Race.”
