SIDEWALKS Veronica Castro interviews the director about his early career as a personal assistant to well-known producers and preparing to direct his second feature film, the comedy-drama “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.”
Mini-Biography:
Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, who started his career being a personal assistant to Martin Scorsese, Nora Ephron, Robert De Niro and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, became a second unit director with such films as “Babel,” “Bewitched,” “Julie & Julia,” “State of Play,” and “Argo.” He transitioned into directing commercials and episodic television shows, including “Glee,” “American Horror Story,” and the pilot of “Red Band Society.” His feature film directorial debut was 2014’s “The Town That Dreaded Sundown.”
