SIDEWALKS host Sonia Lowe talks to former pop icon Debbie Gibson about her memories at the beginning of her musical career and now being a judge on Nickelodeon’s “America’s Most Musical Family.”

Mini-Biography:
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Debbie Gibson is known as a pop music icon. She is a singer-songwriter, producer and actress, who released her debut album, “Out of the Blue,” in 1987 featuring her first hit single, “Foolish Beat.” Her second album, “Electric Youth” (1989), gave Gibson another number-one hit with “Lost in Your Eyes.” Along with music career, Gibson has gone on to starring roles on Broadway and touring musicals, including playing Eponine in “Les Misérables” and Sandy in “Grease.” Some of her films are “Maggie Bloom,” “Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus,” “Mega Python vs. Gatoroid,” “Mega Shark Versus Mecha Shark,” “The Music in Me,” “Wedding of Dreams,” and a cameo appearance in “Rock of Ages.” On TV completion programs, Gibson appeared in “Skating with Celebrities,” “The Celebrity Apprentice,” and “Dancing with the Stars.” Additionally, she was a judge on the “American Idol” spin-off, “American Juniors.”
