SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales welcomes voice actors Cristina Vee and Bryce Papenbrook, who provide the voices for Marinette Dupain-Cheng / Ladybug and Adrien Agreste / Cat Noir, respectively, on the global sensation, “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.” They discuss getting into voice acting, how they got their roles in the project, and if they have purchase any of the “Miraculous” merchandises. Cristina Vee is an accomplished American voice actress, voice director, and singer, who was born in Los Angeles, California. Starting her voice acting career at the age of 15, Vee’s extensive portfolio spans across various media, including anime dubbing, video games, and Western animation. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Marinette Dupain-Cheng / Ladybug in the popular animated series “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.” Her other notable roles include Homura Akemi in “Puella Magi Madoka Magica,” Mio Akiyama in “K-On!,” and Rei Hino / Sailor Mars in the Viz Media dub of “Sailor Moon.” In the realm of video games, Vee has lent her voice to numerous high-profile titles, such as Riven in “League of Legends,” Noel Vermillion in the “BlazBlue” series, and Velvet Crowe in “Tales of Berseria,” among others. He is the son of Bob Papenbrook, a renowned voice actor, and Debbie Rothstein, a voice actress and director. Papenbrook began his voice acting career at a young age, making his debut at just eight years old. He has since become one of the most recognizable voices in the anime and video game industries, with a career spanning over two decades. Papenbrook has lent his voice to numerous popular anime series with notable roles as Kirito in “Sword Art Online,” Eren Jaeger in “Attack on Titan,” Rin Okumura in “Blue Exorcist,” Inosuke Hashibira in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” and Shirou Emiya in “Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works.” In the realm of video games, Papenbrook has voiced characters in high-profile titles such as Henry in “Fire Emblem Awakening,” Makoto Naegi in the “Danganronpa” series, and Masaomi Kida in “Durarara!!” Since 2019, he has served as the voice of Silver the Hedgehog in the “Sonic the Hedgehog” series.
