Interviewed by SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes, Owen talks about his start in acting, would he like to direct a film, and his role in “Blood Ties.”
Mini-Biography:
Born in Coventry, Warwickshire, in the English Midlands, British actor Clive Owen has worked in TV, stage and film. His early projects included starring as Gideon Sarn in BBC’s “Precious Bane” and the Channel 4 film “Vroom.” Owen gained recognition in the UK for portraying the lead character in the ITV series “Chancer.” Other highlighted works are “Lorna Doone,” “Close My Eyes,” “Croupier,” “Sin City,” “Derailed,” “Inside Man,” “Children of Men,” and “The International.”
In 2005, Owen won a Golden Globe® and a BAFTA Award and was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actor in “Closer.” In 2012, he earned his first Primetime Emmy Award® nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for playing Ernest Hemingway in “Hemingway & Gellhorn.”
