SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales talks to actors Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman and Reece Ritchie, the lead stars of SyFy’s “The Ark.” They talk about the science fiction series — created by showrunners by Dean Devlin (films “Stargate,” “Independence Day”) and Jonathan Glassner (“Stargate SG-1,” “The Outpost”) — and working together in Serbia.

From Canada, Christie Burke plays Lt. Sharon Garnet in the SYFY original series, “The Ark.” In films, she played Teenage Renesmee in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Part 2,” Ingrid in “A Single Shot,” Clover in “Love Everlasting,” and Mary in “Still/Born.” Burke’s recent television credits include recurring roles on Netflix’s “Maid” and “The Haunting of Bly Manor” and CBC’s “Strange Empire.” Guest star credits include the CW’s “Two Sentence Horror Stories,” “Supernatural,” and “Billy the Kid.”

Richard Fleeshman, hailing from Manchester, portrays Lt. James Brice in the SYFY original series, “The Ark.” Notably, he took on the role of Craig Harris in “Coronation Street” from 2002 to 2006. His recent projects include appearances in “Deep Heat,” “Chivalry,” Neil Gayman’s “The Sandman,” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral.” Fleeshman has also graced the big screen in “A Christmas Number One” and “R.I.P.D.2.” Furthermore, he has showcased his talent in various theatrical productions on both Broadway and the West End, earning a nomination for an Olivier Award for his performance in the West End revival of “Company.” In addition to his acting career, Fleeshman is a skilled musician, proficient in singing, songwriting, and playing the piano and guitar. Notably, at the age of 13 in 2003, he became the youngest celebrity contestant to win “Stars in Their Eyes.” In 2007, Fleeshman signed a record deal with Universal for his first album, “Neon.”

Born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England, Reece Ritchie plays Lt. Spencer Lane in the new SYFY original series, “The Ark.” He made his film debut in Roland Emmerich’s “10,000 BC,” followed by roles include “Desert Dancer,” “Hercules,” “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” and “The Lovely Bones.” On the stage, Ritchie performed alongside Dame Judy Dench in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” On TV, he played Jay in “White Heat” and Zed in The CW’s “The Outpost,” as well as recurring roles in “Year Million” and “Rellik.”
