In this 2009 interview with SIDEWALKS host Rafael Siegel, Charles Grodin gives many personal stories and talks about his book, “How I Got To Be Whoever It Is I Am,” which features behind-the-scenes tales of the many actors, directors, writers, producers, journalists, and politicians with whom Charles has worked with, including Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Johnny Carson, Orson Welles, and other colorful characters.

Mini-Biography:
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Charles Grodin is an actor, author and talk show host. He is best known for his starring roles in “The Heartbreak Kid,” “Midnight Run,” and a string of “Beethoven” movies, as well as dozens others. He hosted a cable talk show called “The Charles Grodin Show” from 1995 to 1998. In 2015, Grodin was cast in a recurring role in “Louie” as Dr. Bigelow. Grodin passed away on May 18, 2021. He was 86.
