Lee had an in-depth interview with the actress about her Hollywood career, co-starring with Elvis in “Live a Little, Love a Little,” what she was doing at the time and some behind-the-scenes info about her popular guest role on the “Star Trek: TOS” episode, “The Apple.”
Mini-Biography:
Born in Long Beach, CA, model, spokesperson and actress Celeste Yarnall was discovered by Rick and Ozzie Nelson while walking past their offices at General Service Studios in Hollywood and then appeared in an episode of “Ozzie & Harriet” in 1962. A rising star in Hollywood, she co-starred in “Live a Little, Love a Little” opposite Elvis Presley, Roger Corman’s “The Velvet Vampire,” “Eve,” “The Beast of Blood,” “Bob and Carol, Ted and Alice,” “Scorpio,” “The Mechanic,” and “Around The World Under The Sea.” A guest role as Yeoman Martha Landon (Chekov’s love interest) on the “Star Trek” original series, “The Apple,” made her a fan favorite in the sci-fi world. Additionally, Yarnall appeared in various TV guest roles, such as “Bonanza,” “Hogan’s Heroes,” “It Takes a Thief,” “Land of the Giants,” “Love American Style,” “The F.B.I.,” “Mannix,” “Man from Uncle,” “Wild, Wild West,” “Bewitched,” and the pilot of “Columbo.” Beyond the acting world, Yarnall, earned a Ph.D. in nutrition from Pacific Western University, segued into the commercial real estate business and also written several holistic healthcare books, including “The Complete Guide To Holistic Cat Care,” “Cat Care, Naturally – Celeste Yarnall’s Complete Guide To Holistic Health Care For Cats,” and “Natural Dog Care: A Complete Guide To Holistic Health Care For Dogs.” Yarnall was a regular contributing writer for online sites, Care2.com and NaturalNews.com.
