Mini-Biography:
Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, Bruce Campbell plays Chief Ben Dandridge in Peacock’s “Hysteria!” An actor, producer, writer, and director, he is best known for his role as Ash Williams in Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead” franchise, starting with The Evil Dead” (1981), a film he starred in and co-executive produced. Campbell is also known for collaborating with his childhood friend Sam Raimi on low-budget Super 8 films. He has appeared in numerous low-budget cult films, including Crimewave (1985), Maniac Cop (1988), Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat (1989), and Bubba Ho-Tep (2002). On TV shows, he was in “The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.,” “Jack of all Trades, “ “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,” “Xena: Warrior Princess,” “Burn Notice,” and “Ash vs Evil Dead.” He has also made cameo appearances in many of Sam Raimi’s films, including the “Spider-Man” trilogy. In addition to acting, Campbell has authored several books, including his autobiography “If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor” (2002) and its follow-up “Hail to the Chin: Further Confessions of a B Movie Actor”(2017).
