SIDEWALKS host Richard R. Lee interviews the lead stars of CMT’s “Still The King,” Billy Ray Cyrus and Joey Lauren Adams. They talk about Cyrus creating the show and playing the character of “Vernon Brownmule,” Adams joining “Still The King” as Debbie, and Adams going behind the camera again.

Born in Flatwoods, Kentucky, Billy Ray Cyrus is a singer and actor. He has released 12 studio albums, including “Some Gave All,” “It Won’t Be the Last,” “Storm in the Heartland,” “Home at Last,” “Back to Tennessee,” and ”I’m American.” One of his most popular single was “Achy Breaky Heart” in 1992. As an actor, he starred in TV series “Doc” and “Hannah Montana,” playing the father of Miley Stewart (real-life daughter Miley Cyrus). In 2007, Cyrus was a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars. He also hosted “Nashville Star” and “Surprise Homecoming.” In films, Cyrus appeared in “Mulholland Drive,” “Wish You Were Dead,” “Flying By,” “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” “The Spy Next Door,” and “Sharknado 2: The Second One.”

Born in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Joey Lauren Adams is actress and director, who made her directorial debut with the 2006 film, “Come Early Morning,” starring Ashley Judd, Jeffrey Donovan, Diane Ladd, Tim Blake Nelson and Laura Prepon. Receiving a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy nomination for “Chasing Amy,” her other films include “Mallrats,” “Dazed and Confused,” “Bio-Dome,” “Michael,” “Big Daddy,” ”Beautiful,” “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” “The Break-Up,” “Trucker,” “Blue Caprice,” and “Animal.” On TV, Adams was a series regular on the short-lived “Married …with Children” spinoff “Top of the Heap” (and re-named follow-up” Vinnie & Bobby”), had a recurring role on “United States of Tara,” and guest spots in “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Switched at Birth,” “Party Down,” and “Veronica Mars.”
