SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales welcomes actors Alexander Ludwig (“Vikings”) and Jessica Frances Dukes (“Ozark”), the lead stars of MGM+’s “Earth Abides.” They talk about shooting the series in Vancouver, their career starts, and what they like to do off camera.

Mini-Biographies:

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Alexander Ludwig plays Isherwood “Ish” Williams in the MGM+ limited series “Earth Abides,” an adaptation of George R. Stewart’s classic post-apocalyptic novel. He began his acting career at a young age, appearing in commercials and small television roles. Ludwig’s breakthrough came in 2007 when he starred as Will Stanton in the film “The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising.” In 2012, he gained further recognition for playing Cato in “The Hunger Games” (2012). From 2014 to 2020, Ludwig portrayed Bjorn Ironside in History Channel’s “Vikings.” he has appeared in series such as “Heels” and “When Calls the Heart” (2023). His other notable film credits include “Race to Witch Mountain,” “Lone Survivor,” “Grown Ups 2,” “Bad Boys for Life,” “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” and “Midway.” Ludwig has also ventured into music, releasing his debut country music EP in 2022.

Jessica Frances Dukes portrays Emma in MGM”s “Earth Abides.” She gained recognition for her role as Special Agent Maya Miller in the Netflix crime drama series, “Ozark.” Dukes began her acting career on the stage, performing in numerous Off-Broadway and regional theater productions. On TV, she has appeared in several popular series, like “New Amsterdam,” “The Good Wife,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” as well as a recurring role as Marissa in the Marvel series “Jessica Jones.” In films, she was seen in “Bernard and Huey,” “16 Bars,” “Gray Matter,” and “Outbreak.”
