Mini-Biography:
Born in The Bronx, New York, Mary J. Blige is a global success story as a singer, who was once known as “The Queen of Hip Hop Soul.”

Started out as a background singer, Blige released her first album, “What’s The 411?,” in 1992. Her other album titles include “My Life” (1994), “Share My World” (1997), “Mary” (1999), “No More Drama” (2001), “Love & Life” (2003), “The Breakthrough” (2005), “Growing Pains” (2007), “Stronger with Each Tear” (2009), and “My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act 1”) (2011).

She has won numerous awards, including a recipient of nine Grammy Awards®, the Legends Award at the World Music Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards® for her musical contributions to the films “Bobby” and “The Help.” Rolling Stone Magazine ranked her number 100 on the list of “100 greatest singers of all time.”

As an actress, Blige appeared in “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” and “Rock of Ages.”
