SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes interviews the chef about his interest in food and how it felt to cook for three U.S. presidents (Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama). Additionally, Mina gives some ideas for special occasions without spending a lot of money.
Mini-Biography:
Born in Cairo, Egypt and raised in Ellensburg, Washington, Michael Mina is a chef and restaurateur. A founder of the Mina Group, he is the executive chef at two Michael Mina restaurants in San Francisco and Las Vegas. In 2006, Mina released the cookbook, “Michael Mina: The Cookbook.” Mina also launched Cook Taste Eat, a digital culinary media company. He has one numerous awards, including Bon Appétit’s Chef of the Year 2005 for Bellagio and Esquire Magazine’s Restaurant of the Year 2011 for Michael Mina in San Francisco.
