Video Content: The Lone Bellow (2013):
SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes interviews the Southern country-rock trio about their start and appearance on the PBS Arts Fall Festival documentary, “Nashville 2.0: The Rise of Americana.”
Mini-Biography:
The rising Brooklyn-based group The Lone Bellow is a musical trio with Zach Williams (guitar, lead vocals), Kanene Donehey Pipkin (mandolin, vocals) and Brian Elmquist (guitar, vocals).
Williams’ career in music began following a horseback riding accident involving his wife, where he was writing songs that focused on tragedy, hope and redemption. Started out as a solo act, Williams was joined by college friend Elmquist and Pipkin. As a group, they were initially called Zach Williams and the Bellow, but they later shorten their name to The Lone Bellow, when they released their self-titled debut with Descendant Records in early 2013.
