Sidewalks welcomes talented videographer
J.P. Langston has been interested in film / music / TV at a young age. He started to pursue these endeavors as he entered college. In 1999, he enrolled in the Media / Communications program at Contra Costa College in San Pablo, CA.
When he was in college, he met one-time Sidewalks special on-air correspondent Brian Bland, who’s also a central staff member at KCRT-TV in Richmond, CA. J.P. became one of the lead interns at the station and helped in various productions, including MK Productions / Comcast Game of The Week sports programming, Richmond City Council Meetings, and numerous LIVE festival coverage.
During his internship, J.P. was introduced to Sidewalks‘ executive producer and another KCRT employee Richard R. Lee, who was supervising several KCRT interns at the time. Brian and Richard helped in his trainings, and in 2005, J.P. was asked to join Sidewalks videography team. With Sidewalks, J.P. is gaining more production experience with various high-profile celebrity production shoots.
J.P. has also appeared in the show, usually off-camera as the voice of the camera operator and sidekick to Richard’s hosting segments. Additionally, he has performed some on-air interviews, including a popular one with actress Cassandra Peterson (best known for her on-screen horror hostess character Elvira, Mistress of the Dark).
The talented videographer, who is also a percussionist with the Bob Claire Orchestra, plans to be a filmmaker in the near future.
