SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro interviews the actor about getting his unusual start in front-of-the-camera and working with the actors and using the sword in “Machete Kills.”

Mini-Biography:
Born in Los Angeles, Danny Trejo’s life wasn’t the usual Hollywood story. In-and-out of prison, he became, unexpectedly, an actor after he was offered extra work on “Runaway Train.” From that point on, Trejo became the go to guy for roles, mostly cast as the “tough guy” persona. He has a huge resume on the big screen, voice over work on video games, and on TV. Some of his films include “Blood In Blood Out,” “Anaconda,”” xXx,” “Heat,” “From Dusk till Dawn,” “Con Air,” “Six Days Seven Nights,” “Spy Kids,” “The Replacement Killers,” “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,“ ”Predators,” “Delta Farce,” “Rob Zombie’s Halloween” and “Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror.” On TV, he appeared in “Baywatch,” “Renegade,” “NYPD Blue,” “Tracey takes On …,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “Alias,” “Lost,” “George Lopez,” “The Young and The Restless,” “Breaking Bad,” “Burn Notice,” “Desperate Housewives,” and many others. Trejo has worked with director Robert Rodriguez in many of his films, including Machete in “Spy Kids” film franchise, “Grindhouse,” and his own lead-starring, film series (“Machete” and “Machete Kills”); Razor Charlie in the “From Dusk till Dawn,” Navajas in “Desperado,” Cucuy in “Once Upon a Time in Mexico,” and Cuchillo in “Predators.”
