SIDEWALKS host Cindy Rhodes interviews the rising stars of “Contest,” a Cartoon Network made-for-cable film that deals with bullying. Along with the discussion about bullying in real life and on the film, McNamara and Duty talk about if they can have normal lives while in show business.
Mini-Biographies:
Katherine McNamara is actress and singer. She may be known to TV audiences as Myra Santelli in the Disney Channel film, “ Girl vs. Monster.” Some of her film credits include “Matchmaker Mary,” “Sam Steele and the Junior Detective Agency,” and “New Year’s Eve.” While on the TV side, she guest starred on “Glee,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Drop Dead Diva,” “30 Rock,” and Disney Channel’s series, “Jessie” and “Kickin’ It.” She is set to be in the “Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn” movie remake.
Born and raised in Plano, Texas, Kenton Duty is an actor, dancer and singer. He co-stars as European exchange student Gunther Hessenheffer on Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up.” and previously the web series “Ctrl.” He also had a recurring role on the hit series “Lost” as young Jacob. Duty performed in comedy sketches for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” as well as “The Jay Leno Show” in primetime. Other roles include cable movie “Christmas in Paradise”; guest-starring on TV’s “Cold Case” and “Last Man Standing”; films “2:13,” “Forget Me Not,” “Crazy on the Outside,” “My Name Is Khan,” and “Amazing Love.” As a singer, Duty was in the musical group Invasion and is now a solo artist.
