SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro talks to the director about getting Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy to star in “The Heat” and working with the ladies. He also talks about starting his career as an actor.
Mini-Biography:
Born in Mount Clemens, Michigan, Paul Feig is a director, actor, stand-up comedian, and author.
As a feature film director, he helmed “I Am David,” “Unaccompanied Minors,” and the Oscar®-nominated “Bridesmaids.”
He created the cult classic TV series, “Freaks and Geeks.” On TV, Feig directed episodes of “Arrested Development,” “The Office,” “30 Rock,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Mad Men,” among others.
As an actor, he guest starred or appeared in in many programs, such as “The Facts of Life,” “Dirty Dancing,” “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show,” and “Good Sports,” and is known for playing science teacher Mr. Pool on season one of “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” and camp counselor Tim in “Heavyweights.”
