SIDEWALKS’ Cindy Rhodes chats with the TV host of “Brain Games,” a show that explores how the most complicated object in the universe — your brain — and how it can be so easily hacked and fooled. Additionally, Silva talks about starting his career into television.
Mini-Biography:
Born in Venezuela, Jason Silva is a TV personality, filmmaker and philosopher. Currently, he is the host of National Geographic Channel’s “Brain Games.”
From 2005 to 2011, he was a presenter on former U.S. Vice President Al Gore’s cable network, Current TV, where Silva hosted, wrote and produced more than 100 hours of original content, including co-hosting the show “Max and Jason” with Max Lugavere.
After leaving Current TV, he became a part-time filmmaker and public speaker. Silva is also involved with the worldwide conferences of TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design).
Described by The Atlantic magazine as “A Timothy Leary of the Viral Video Age,” Silva produced and directed the short documentary film, “The Immortalists,” which profiled scientists and philosophers; “Textures of Selfhood,” an experimental film about hedonism and spirituality; and the short video, “Radical Openness.”
