SIDEWALKS correspondent Mika Abogado interviews star Joseph Gordon-Levitt and writer/director Rian Johnson about their film “Looper,” co-starring Bruce Willis. Gordon-Levitt talks about playing the younger version of Willis and wearing prosthetic makeup, while Johnson tells us about making and scripting a time travel film.
Mini-Biographies:
Born in Los Angeles, California, Gordon-Levitt has been in show business at a very early age. From plays and commercials to TV-movies and TV shows like “Dark Shadows” and “The Powers That Be,” he became a well known for playing Tommy Solomon in the comedy sitcom “3rd Rock from the Sun” and as the orphan in the film, “Angels in the Outfield.” Lately, Gordon-Levitt has been in some high profile films, such as “(500) Days of Summer,” “Inception,” “50/50,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and “Lincoln.” Other films include “10 Things I Hate About You,” “Manic,” “Mysterious Skin,” “Brick,” “The Lookout,” “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” and “Premium Rush.”
Born in Maryland, Johnson is a writer and director. For his debut feature film, “Brick,” he won the Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. His second film was “The Brothers Bloom,” then the scifi “Looper.”
