Mini-Biography:

Born in Maryhill, Glasgow, Robert Carlyle is an actor who appears on both movies and television series. Some of his films include Trainspotting,” “The Full Monty,” “The World Is Not Enough,” “Angela’s Ashes,” “The Beach,” “28 Weeks Later,” and “Yesterday.” On TV, he played PC Hamish Macbeth on “Hamish Macbeth,” Nicholas Rush on “Stargate Universe,” and Rumplestiltskin / Mr. Gold on “Once Upon a Time,” as well as Robert Sutherland on ”COBRA” and Ogilvy on the BBC miniseries “The War of the Worlds.” Carlyle was appointed an OBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 1999.
