They talk about their hit single, a remake of Peter Frampton’s “Baby, I Love Your Way”; has he met Frampton; how he handled the success of the song; what he did during the band’s break; and working on a Spanish album.

Mini-Biography:
Joaquin “Quino” McWhinney is the vocalist and guitarist of the band Big Mountain. He started as the lead singer of the band Shiloh. In 1989, the group released the song “California Reggae.” In 1991, Shiloh was renamed Big Mountain. The group has released over 10 studio albums and compilations, including “Wake Up,” “Unity,” ” Resistance,” ” One Love,” “Cool Breeze,” “New Day,” and” Perfect Summer.” Their biggest hit was “Baby, I Love Your Way,” a remake of Peter Frampton’s single for the film “Reality Bites.” According to Wikipedia, McWhinney is of Mexican/Irish heritage and several members of his family were mariachi musicians. His interest in reggae began after seeing a documentary about Bob Marley and Rastafari.
