SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales talks to “American Dad!” voice actors Rachael MacFarlane and Dee Bradley Baker about their career and the long-running animated series, as well as who is funnier between Rachael and her older brother and “American Dad!” creator Seth MacFarlane.
Mini-Biographies:
Born in Kent, Connecticut, Rachael MacFarlane, who voices Hayley Smith on “American Dad!,” is an actress and singer. She is known for her voice work on numerous animated projects, such as Supreme Leader Numbuh 362 in “Codename: Kids Next Door,” Mindy and Eris, the Goddess of Discord and Chaos on ” The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy,” and Kate Lockwell in the video game series “Starcraft II.” Her other TV / film voice projects include “Johnny Bravo,” “Family Guy,” “Robot Chicken,” “Animaniacs,” “Superman/Batman: Public Enemies,” “Sofia the First,” and many others. She also voices the Orville Computer on her brother’s, Seth MacFarlane, series “The Orville.” As a singer, MacFarlane released the album “Hayley Sings” in 2012.
Born in Bloomington, Indiana, Dee Bradley Baker, who continues to voice Klaus Heisler (the Smiths’ man-in-a-fish-body pet), has done primarily voice work in most animated projects, including “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Codename: Kids Next Door,” “Gravity Falls,” “Steven Universe,” “Phineas and Ferb,” “Ben 10,” “The Legend of Korra,” “The 7D,” and “Ultimate Spider-Man.” Baker is also known for voicing Captain Rex and many clone troopers in “Star Wars” animated series, such as “The Clone Wars,” “Rebels,” and “The Bad Batch. His voice has appeared in live-action series: TV’s “Legends of the Hidden Temple” and “Shop ’til You Drop” and films’ “Space Jam” and “The Boxtrolls.”
