SIDEWALKS host Lori Rosales talks to Rose Matafeo and Nikesh Patel, the stars of the HBO Max series, “Starstruck.” Besides talking about the program Matafeo created, the actors discuss the career starts.
Mini-Biographies:
Grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, Rose Matafeo is a standup comedian, actress and writer. She was the host of TVNZ U’s “U Live” and became a writer and performer on the NZ late-night comedy sketch show, “Funny Girls.” Matafeo played Talia on the comedy series “Squinters.” On “Starstuck,” she is the lead actress (playing Jessie), creator and writer.
Born in Wembley, London, Nikesh Patel is an actor, who is known for playing Aafrin Dalal in the TV series “Indian Summers.” He played Dan in the TV series Bedlam and played Kash Khan in Mindy Kaling’s 2019 miniseries adaptation of “Four Weddings and a Funeral.” Patel made guest appearances in “Midsomer Murders,” “Law and Order: UK,” and the “Doctor Who” New Year’s Day special episode, “Resolution.” In films, he was in “Honour,” “London Has Fallen,” and “Artemis Fowl.” On HBO Max’s “Starstuck,” Patel plays the lead character Tom.
