He’s a multi-talented filmmaker, rapper, songwriter, and actor. Now, Daveed Diggs’ career continues to move up the (train) tracks in TNT’s “Snowpiercer.”

SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro talks to Daveed Diggs about his Oakland-San Francisco Bay Area roots, the challenges of being an actor, his music, and auditioning for Layton Well on TNT’s long-awaited, TV version of “Snowpiercer.”

Mini-Biography:
Born in Oakland, California, Daveed Diggs is an actor, rapper, singer and songwriter. In music, he is part of the hip hop group Clipping, along with producers William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes. In theatre, he originated the roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in “Hamilton,” and he won both a Grammy® Award and Tony® Award during his time with the Broadway musical. In films, Diggs wrote, produced and starred in the “Blindspotting.” On TV, Diggs was an executive producer on ABC’s “The Mayor,” and had recurring roles on the series Netflix’s “The Get Down” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” and ABC’s “Black-ish.” Additionally, Diggs has done voice roles on “Bob’s Burgers,” “Undone,” “Green Eggs and Ham,” and “Star Wars Resistance.”
