SIDEWALKS host Veronica Castro talks to Deborah Cox about her music career, her starring role in the BET+ film “Carl Weber’s Influence,” and what she likes to do when she’s not working.
Mini-Biography:
Born in Toronto and grew up in Scarborough, Toronto, Deborah Cox is a singer, songwriter, actress, and producer. At age 12, she was seen in TV commercials. Later, Cox became a background vocalist for Celine Dion. As a solo artist, she released her first self-titled album in 1995, followed by “One Wish” that featured the hit single, “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here.” Her third album “The Morning After” was released in 2002. Other albums are “Destination Moon” and “The Promise.” Cox went into acting and made her film debut in “Love Come Down.” On stage, she was the lead in “Aida,” “Jekyll & Hyde,” and “The Bodyguard.”
